It’s still a relative newcomer on the social media scene, but Pinterest is certainly taking off globally - especially amongst women. I have to admit, I’m one of them... my board is teaming with all those beautiful things I desire, gold brogues, fancy wallpaper and coffee tables. But hang on, it’s not a tool just to satisfy my shopping desires!

Pinterest daily user numbers have increased over 145% since the beginning of 2012, showing growth beyond anything seen by Twitter or Facebook at the same point during their history.  Recent research revealed that the virtual pinboard is now the third biggest social network after Twitter and Facebook it is arguably the biggest traffic referral source. So let’s get on board!

The essence of Pinterest is simple, finding things you like and ‘pinning’ them onto a virtual pinboard to show your followers your latest findings.  Each pin links back to its hosting site, making it a good tool to research and find things too.

This all sounds great you may say, but how can I get to grips with another new tool and is it really for me and my business?  Well, luckily Hubspot created a great 43-page e-book earlier this year to introduce Pinterest to business types. If you haven’t got around to reading it yet, download your free copy here.

Check out the guide for tips on how Pinterest works and how to best make the most of it. It's full of handy tips including, B2B lead generation and how Pinterest can help increase sales of for ecommerce companies. The guide also provides a selection of real life examples.  I can’t recommend it enough!
